Frosh Powder Puff

You mess with the bull, you're gonna get the horns.

The Wilson Junior High Freshman Class held an intra-squad Powder Puff football game at "The Bowl" on Wednesday, October 19th.  The White Team was victorious, but all that mattered was that the girls had fun.  Anna and Kendyl, playing for the Black Team, were slotted as outside linebackers in the first half, while taking on running back and quarterback duties, respectively, in the second half.  Let's get right to the action!

This young lady can run.  I think her name is Brianna Brenna, so I'll just call her the Bullet.

The girls weren't so competitive that they couldn't share a sideline.

The Black Team wasn't fooling around: they even kicked extra points!

I don't want to be a chauvinist pig or anything, but I loved how the ladies didn't quite carry the ball the correct way.

It did, however, look like they were having lots of fun.

I think there was some miscommunication on the sidelines.

Every play was constant bedlam.

The Bullet.

This play was soooooo close to being a TD - you can tell her teammates were excited!

My next-door neighbor, Peter, "coaching."

I love this one - Ginger is taking on two defensive linemen... just like the Short Order Cook!

Anna - calling out a blitz.

I also love that Anna doesn't seem the slightest bit upset that girl got by her.

Also funny - how some of the girls looked really uncomfortable playing football.

The Bullet escapes a would-be tackler!

The White Team won the game because they simply out-huddled the Black Team.

Warming up for the second half...

I gotta say, pretty darn good form, ladies.

Well, you're a better passer than a catcher, but that's OK!

I just like that the Bullet is directing traffic out there.

The Black Team went to the air in the second half.

On her only carry of the day, Anna left everyone in the dust... until she got 4 yards downfield.

Huge interception here by the awesomely-numbered 31.

Don't they know you can't stop a Bullet?

White didn't need the passing game to win this contest.

She's like Aaron Rodgers out there!

White was getting a little "grabby" at the end. Watch your hands, ladies.

Oh man that was an awesome collision.

It even stopped the Bullet!

They look like they're up to trouble.

Everyone remained friends after the game.

In fact, someone saw something she liked.

Good work, everyone.

And how about a hand for those coaches!

Now, it wouldn't be fun post without some GIFs.  Let's see how Anna and Kendyl did passing the ball to each other at halftime:
